Duma passes in 1st reading fiscal aid bill for industries, people

MOSCOW, May 21 (PRIME) -- The State Duma, parliament's lower chamber, passed in the first reading on Thursday a bill on tax measures supporting the people, companies and social non-commercial organizations (NCO) amid the pandemic.  

The measures include a full refund of self-employed people tax paid for 2019, payroll tax refunds in the affected industries for 2020 amounting to the minimum wage; written-off debt and interest taken in 2020 for employment support will not be considered income and will not be taxable.  

Small, medium business and self-employed people are spared from taxes and advanced tax payments, except for value-added tax (VAT) and the payroll tax for April–June.
